Vegas Sprouse
Theater Techniques | K4-2nd Grades
Theater Scene-work | 3rd-4th & 7th-8th Grades
Vegas Sprouse is a native of Lakeland, Florida and a graduate of Harrison School for the Arts class of 2023 from the Musical Theatre Department. Vegas is currently attending Polk State College, starting her second year towards her AA Degree, then moving into a bachelor’s in fine arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre with a minor in Education or Theatre Education.
Vegas has been involved in the theatre world since she was six years old, after she attended her first play at Lakeland Community Theatre (LCT). She started by attending Summer Camps and getting involved in other Theatre for Youth performing opportunities available at LCT. This quickly became her one true passion. She went on to attend Rochelle School for the Arts (HSOA) for her middle school years, getting involved in the tech side of theatre as well as the acting and singing. When it came time for high school, Vegas was thrilled when she was accepted into the Musical Theatre Department as it was her dream to attend. Attending HSOA provided her not just the opportunity to perform in school productions but also to be immersed in theatre daily in and out of the classroom. Some of the shows she was involved in during her 4 years at HSOA were “Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Bright Star”, “Mary Poppins”, and “Once Upon a Mattress”.
Vegas developed her love of theatre education when she started volunteering at the Lakeland Community Theatre “Show in Two Weeks” summer camps. She was responsible for her own group of students and enjoyed sharing with them her love of theatre while developing her own tool kit to make herself a better teacher. Seeing how excited the kids were to learn and get involved no matter where they were placed was extremely inspiring. Vegas was thrilled when this teaching opportunity became available to her, and seemed to provide her inspiration just when she was working to find her way to take the next step towards her goal.
After 15 years of performing and loving theatre, she is excited to help young children develop their own feelings and passions towards the performing arts. She hopes to be the teacher she adored growing up who taught and nurtured her own passions. When Vegas is not in a theater or at home working on her lines, she can be caught reading, singing around the house, spending time with her animals, especially her cat, Kelley, and spending time with friends and loved ones. She loves anything creative as that is how she expresses herself and finds peace.
